JUNE UPDATE
INFORMATION ON RE-OPENING OUR CENTRENotice from our President Joan Boydell- dated 24th June 2020
By now you will have heard the news that the Government have eased restrictions governing our beautiful Centre. Sounds simple- go-ahead open up !!!!! I don’t think so. A guideline booklet from S.N.U. outlining Government Guidelines (over twenty pages) has to be adhered to. Safety has got to be our priority; to our members and just as importantly to the community.
Having been in regular contact with the officers and committee throughout this Pandemic, the ultimate aim is a face to face committee meeting -discussing ways to open the Centre safely. I must warn you all now, that the feeling at the moment is that we take small cautious steps and only when we feel the time feels safe to do so will we reopen.
A saying came to mind very clearly when writing this statement “Fools Rush In Where Angels Fear To Tread”. I care very deeply for each and every one of you and would never forgive myself if anyone contracted the Virus or even worse take the Virus home to their loved ones.
We are all desperate to get back to our beautiful Centre, no one more so than me. But I appeal to you all to be patient and understanding in this matter.
Never let us forget that over 42,000 people have lost their lives due to this horrendous Virus. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all their family and friends. The Centres first service will be one of thanksgiving. In the meantime, keep safe, keep in touch with each other and never forget ‘ tomorrow will be a better day’
My love to you all
Joan
