Christmas message from our President Joan Boydell x
I know this isn’t the Christmas we were hoping for- either with your family’s or with our Centre friends. Many of you will have been planning to visit friends and loved ones in different areas but have now had to change your plans. 2020 has probably been the most challenging year for us all, but we must all stay optimistic and start planning for a new future. Who knows what the new normal will look like, but we can begin preparing?
our aims and goals now.
As I write these words to you it is blowing a gale, and pouring with rain and I’m looking at the plants and shrubs in the garden wondering how do they survive such conditions each winter only to burst forth in the spring with new life and beautiful flowers. We must do the same and together plan for a brighter future. And we will.
I have been looking back at our Christmas evenings in Paignton Centre and it made me realise how fortunate we are to have such strong support and love, everyone pulling together for the entire community. I must admit that the rehearsing of the group sketches was as funny as the actual event. Over the years we have had some wonderful Christmas Social Evenings, and there will be many more social events in the future. We have so much to catch up on.
Let us reflect on 2020 and let us all learn from it, let us move forward more knowledgeable and better prepared. We are united in our aim -Remembering our Principles especially Brotherhood of Man and Personal Responsibility in these times.
Tough decisions have had to be made to keep all our members safe. But we will rise again and take our place at the heart of our community. When we will bloom and grow together.
Have a safe Christmas filled with Love and Peace let us all look forward together to a brighter, healthy and more settled future.
My love to you all
Joan xx
